WTF? According to Reggie, Daboll's implementing a WCO style

Well, since we seem to be fresh out of starting caliber running backs......, yeah I guess it's time to dump the smash mouth run first offense. Of course we are also out of QBs, WR's, pass rushers, run stuffers and safeties and most everything else too. So what scheme should we run? Maybe we could punt on first downs, work on punt coverage and try to get enough field position advantage to win games 3-0 in overtime. We'll feature our special teams since we seem to be fresh out of offense and defense at the same time?

why do you come on this board again?

Philly, how many others had none?

Because Pro Bowls really ****ing matter.

Cameron Wake and Randy Starks were named to the pro bowl. Funny you didn't mention them, guess that's just a credit to how many games you watched. Dansby had a pro bowl type year. As did Soliai. I'd say Langford was better than Starks last year, and McDaniels was pretty damn good too. Davis and Smith played great in coverage. But yea, no defense, even though were a top 10 unit last year. Oh, and last time I checked we had Brandon Marshall and Bess at WR, but yea, no WR's either. If you're going to have an opinion on this team, at least watch them ****ing play, and at least know who the pro bowlers are if you're going to use that ridiculous **** as your argument. Bell and Carpenter weren't even in the pro bowl last year, that was 2009.

Good question, I bleed Aqua and Orange. I have been a fan since 1970 when Larry Little was my 7th grade teacher during the off season. I watched Don Shula win his first Superbowl. I stayed home from work on that Saturday in 1983 to watch the Dolphins draft Marino. I watched when they were the winningest franchise in the history of all professional sports, then the NFL, then the AFC since the merger, then the franchise that hasn't won a championship in 37 years in a 32 team league. It hurts to see what we have become. I don't see any concrete signs we are headed in the right direction. Is there anyone here who truly believes we are a Superbowl contender this year? Next year or even the next 3 years? So how many decades should it take before we are a competitive contender again? I'm 52 now, I was 15 when we last won a Superbowl, I don't think I have another 37 years to see if they accidentally stumble across a way to win. How much patience is appropriate for a fan to have before they should be allowed to expect some results instead of excuses?

Dude, you don't need all the cussing. We are on the same side here, aren't we? We are just having a discussion about a common interest. My morale is pretty low right now. I hope we have reason for optimism as I have hoped every year for many years. You are right, this was the 2010 pro bowl selections after the 2009 season. So the question becomes, do you really feel we have a good chance to surpass the Patriots and the Jets and make it to the playoffs this year with this roster? Or are we lowering our expectations to hoping to edge out the Bills for 3rd place in our division? Lay some knowledge on me man, I hope you can give me reason to feel better about this season, I really do.

How long have you been a Jet fan?

Wish I could raise your morale, but I can't. Chad Henne is our QB. And unless he makes a drastic improvement, it's most likely going to be another mediocre season with our defense carrying the load to give us 8 wins give or take.

the pro bowl is still a huge honor to a lot of people, but it's become more of a name thing anymore. Logan Mankins made the pro bowl last year only playing in 6 games. Champ Bailey has made pro bowls most of the season and getting burned. DeAngelo Hall made the pro bowl based on his INTs, when 4 came in 1 game, and he was toast all season.

Whatever the offense, Bush needs to make big plays. Forget running between the tackles with him, except on occasion to throw them off. Bush needs to break those big runs on a regular basis. I think he should finish games something like 6 carries for 107 yards or 8 carries for 114 yards. He needs to break bigger runs.

Translation: They failed to acquire the every down back they desired, so the direction of the offense changed completely.

Funny thing is we actually have the personnel to run the WCO effectively...........aside from QB, which is why it's not going to work.

We passed him up in the draft, then watched him get taken by the Saints and they happily handed over their often injured 3rd down "specialist".

They are trying to fit a system to the talent on hand. Bush needs space to operate in. A WCO or hybrid version of it would fit. However, an inaccurate Henne is not the ideal qb for a WCO.

Bring in AJ Feeley, guy was great in WCO and he's probably better than Henne. What's Jeff Garcia up to?

Sad but true. I want him badly to succeed. But, the only thing we have to go on is what he is shown so far.
