You can tell Spielman had nothing to do with this deal

The problem with those two is that the panic and make stupid mistakes...whether it's the draft, free agency or in a game situation. Sheesh.

But its not their fault. Don't be negative. 4-12 isn't really that bad!

Which is it, first you said you're not, now you say you are........

I left it alone when you admitted, in my mind, rightfully so, that you're not.

The moves made last year should have another year for the FA's and 2 more for the Rookies...Now we have a different kind of coaching style, so both will have to prove themselves this year..we're see if they're adaptable. Speilman was defintely drafting for Wanny's regime..now he has to switch face and draft for Saban's. This draft will tell how good he is, because Saban got here too late to have the impact on this Draft that you guys think he will, He does have the impact of changing the formula for players he likes, but it's the scouts who done all the work, that will fill in those spots on the board. The scouts were under Speilman..Let's see how well this draft is done..remember it's another 3 years to fully evaluate it, not instanteously like you stated.

Don't get me started on that. If Gus beats him out for the starters job, Spielman should just quit cause Miami fans will want his head on a stick!

I've been pretty much sayin' that since the trade happened. It was totally a stupid trade. No picks should've been traded. All that neede doing was to sign him to a tender and the eagles don't match. Simple as that but Spielman was in a panic mode and tried to hit a HR but struck out to end the game.

Well a bunch of "Spielman-lovers' around here are gonna defend all of his moves. Go figure!

Of course its backseat driving. THAT IS WHY THIS IS A MESSAGE BOARD. So a bunch of backseat drivers can give an opinon! :shakeno: :shakeno:

WRONG! Tearing down people in the Dolphins organization constantly isn't simply providing an opinion on Dolphins events / news / etc.

When you tear Down RS or anyone else and say he couldn't have been a part of this or that, or its his fault that this or that happened, WITHOUT REALLY KNOWING THE FACTS, without being part of the situation, you are just speculating in a negative light at an easy targets expense.

That crosses a line and as I've said before, Saban wisely has identified that type of distraction as a problem. He's taking steps to address and not allow it to distract his team.

The average fan has no idea what goes into any of the decisions that take place. We can throw out our opinion on it, speculate, etc, but when individuals begin to have blame placed on them and are insulted by people not in the know, "thats just wrong" (best Dennis Green impression)

Every trade Spielman made failed. This trade is too good on paper and in reality so we know he had nothing to do with it!

Just image if that god awful Lamar Gordon for a 3rd rounder didn't take place! We could be sitting real pretty right now! A 1st, a 2nd, and two 3rds!

Just give it up man... jesus...

It's a football message board! Take away rumors and speculation and this place will not be here as 99.9% of the posts are speculation and rumors! This board isn't the Miami Herald or Sun-Sentinel. It's a bunch of fans talking football. Don't take it so seriously! :shakeno:

Actually, if memory serves me correctly, the Vikings were telling the Fins that the Patroits were the ones who wanted to move up to their spot so that they could draft Carey. The Vikings "kindly" called Spielman and told them that if they didn't get Miami's 4th rounder that they would switch picks with NE. It's clear that Bellichick played us hard! He didn't need a Tackle and was perfectly content to take the BPA at his spot. He played us during games with Wanny as coach and he played us in drafts. That was his way of sabotaging us. The Vikes just went along with the ride so that they could get an extra pick...and Spielman and Wanny were desperate and stupid enough to go along with that game. The problem with those two is that the panic and make stupid mistakes...whether it's the draft, free agency or in a game situation. Sheesh.

Hmmm, yes and no, Speilman didn't panic and overpay for Woody and Tait. He didn't over panic and give up a boat load of picks for that rb, can't remember his name..Speilman didn 't plan to give up a #3 for Gordon, Ricky helped that situation, but Speilman also remained cool and collected picks from Chicago for Whaley, got Booker, and let Whaley (I"m playing with the name btw) go, without over paying there too. He didn't over Wade at RT either..I notice that Saban and Speilman didn't over pay to keep Greenwood this year. Wanny as a GM would have kept Whaley and found a way to keep Surtain this year at the O's expense. I'm glad Speilman took over last year.

We could have got more for Walle PRIOR to the draft but we held onto him and got less for him in return.

And we got 1 pick from Chicago for Wally and we sent that (or our 3rd actually) to St.Louis for Gordon! We didn't "collect picks" from Chicago as you say. We got 1 thrid round pick, and we then turned around and traded a 3rd round pick

And we SHOULD have overpaid for Woody or Tait. Look at our o-line. It was (and still is) awful.

Well lets see how long Saban is here after the draft. I have a feeling Nick has him on a try-out period.

That's likely true of all of Saban's staff.

I am qualified to look at someones track record and make a judgement if THEY are qualified to make such moves though.

See, there's your mistake.

NO YOU ARE NOT!

You don't know the situation, circumstance or anything else involved in the decisions made at the time they were made. None of us do, thus you are UNQUALIFIED to review any track records, make any judgements, or portray yourself as in the know in regards to anything the FO did last season.

You can only speculate based on an uninformed opinion. You should keep that in mind when you start up your finger pointing. It would be great if we as fans could be a fly on the wall and know everything that goes on, but we dont.

Perfectly said.

The selection wasn't bad. TRADING A 4th round pick to move up 1 spot to take him when he would have been there at our spot anyway..........that's bad!

Minnesota wasn't taking him. We feel for their bluff. :shakeno:

SPECULATION

Im entitled to an opinion. And how "informed" or "un-informed" my opinion is on what knowledge I have is something I can and probably will never convince you of so I won't even bother.

SPECULATION

So lets just shut down EVERY MESSAGE BOARD out there with speculation on it. Because obviously if we can't speculate why even spark a debate or a discussion. :shakeno: :shakeno: :shakeno: :shakeno:
