No, the anti Tannehill fans haven' been saying the same thing for years. They've been saying:
- He is a converted WR, he'll never be any good
- All he does is get passes batted down
- He locks on his primary receiver for too long
- He immediately checks down to his option instead of staying on his primary receiver
- He'll prove he's good enough when he reaches 90 QB rating
- He can't throw the deep ball
- He certainly can't throw the deep ball and have above a 90 rating at the same time
- He is at fault for the sacks
- He can't beat NE
- He'll never lead the team to the playoffs
He was the 12th ranked passer in 2016. Why do you keep ignoring that? He wasn't "meh" in 2016 or 2014. Make your case without leaving out facts. Seems like a common tactic among the haters, along with moving the goal posts.
12th best passer based on what? QB rating? So what!?! Tyrod Taylor had a 99.5 QB rating in 2015. Alex Smith was the #1 rated QB this year! And chiefs still dumped him
The only stat that is important is zero playoff wins, zero playoff starts
He is 37-40 as a starter. In comparison mark Sanchez is 41-37 as a starter. Joe flacco is 102-67. Alex Smith is 90-67. Andy Dalton is 62-48.
Zero pro bowls, not even as a bum alternate. What's that say what others think of him?
Whether you like it or not, the QB is going to get some of the blame for going 37-40 as a starter unless you have an ESTABLISHED QB like Brees or Rivers. That's the NFL today
