Michael Egnew...

Well, what I see happening is Hogan in the slot making a sharp cut out, clearing the middle of the field and Tannehill throwing a rope up the gut to a streaking Egnew for a 30 or 40 yard gain. Stuff like that. Or a Safety keeping his eye on Egnew for a fraction of a second longer, guarding the middle of the field and a Hogan or Pruitt running a hitch or a flag and taking it to the house. Synergy. YOu never know, but for all Egnew is getting bashed, it could very well happen. Dude has some skills and is getting very little credit on this board. We'll see what happens, and he will make the 53.

I agree that he could come through and be a weapon for us but what has he done for us to give him credit for so far?

What is your prediction for the TE spots on the 53 man roster mate?

With Jorvorskie Lane looking like he's actually going to earn a roster spot with his strong special teams play, as well as his decent lead blocking and that successful short yardage fullback dive the other night, that might free up some of our tight ends as far as backfield blocking duties are concerned. It might. It's something to eyeball.

Jeron Mastrud is legitimately ahead of Les Brown as the 4th guy. But I just don't see much history with Joe Philbin up in Green Bay and this kind of tight end...big, slow, mostly a blocker, etc. The thing he has going for him is he's smart and a coach's son so he understands things and does what the coaches tell him to do. On the other hand he hasn't made a single play in the passing game in the preseason and for a blocking specialist he's not really killing it in the blocking.

So anyway what I'm getting at is you could see them only roster the three tight ends because of the presence of Jorvorskie Lane. As for what they'll do this year, I think Fasano and Clay are going to be very productive. Michael Egnew still has more time he needs to put in at the position. I don't believe I ever once said he would light it up as a rookie. I believe he gets on the field in red zone situations as basically like a bigger wide receiver, but continues to get trained up on the line.

don't put me in the same place with omar...you can sit around and wait for that scrub to add up to a hill of beans all you want...me not happening...same ole crap i heard with koa misi and sean smith...not buying it...

and if i turn out wrong unlike a lot of people here i'll admit it...

So then you admit you were wrong about Sean Smith, whom you suggested is a player that should be cut, yet continues to start even under a different coaching staff?

And you also admit you were wrong about Vontae Davis?

hell no i wasn't wrong about vontae and i'm not wrong about sean smith...mr liability on the boundary cb...hell no...ha ha YOU WERE...you just will never admit it...

sean smith has a place in this league...and it's called lined up over te's or as a dime extra db...as a every down boundary cb pure liability...vontae has the most physical talent of any db on this roster by a mile...the only guy who could handle a legit #1 wr and keep him from eating our lunch...but he's inconsistent in the pros just like he was in college...still you take him out of this secondary right now and we'll get destroyed...we're nuts to have two cbs on the field and vontae not be one of them

egnew won't separate from coverage at this level was helped by a soft conference and soft offensive system and plays a wrs finesse game in a te's body...terrible pick for anything other than flexed out...in line will never block a paper bag...never blocked anyone in his life at missouri...we're wasting time trying...

I would hate to lose a receiver in order to keep him on the roster, or the PS. Outside of Cunningham, I'd rather have all our receivers over this guy. If he's nervous nelly and failing to make plays because of it then he can definitely hit the road. No mental midgets or chokers allowed!

Nice spin. So your assessment that Vontae Davis is a great corner and Sean Smith is garbage that should be cut, is not in the least bit challenged by the fact that Vontae has been benched and Sean Smith continues to start despite your "garbage" assessment, two years after the fact. Awesome.

can you stop posting the same thing in every thread?
Eggnog sucks, eggnog sucks, eggnog sucks, incognito sucks, fasano sucks, etc. I can post whateva I want sabanhater.

They are both scrub corners, again career backups. Stop arguing about backups. They are scrubs.

sean smith is the channing crowder of this defense...should have been replaced on the boundary already but we haven't gotten around to it...if miami pays that kid good money to come back and start with his game they're nuts...smith as a starting boundary cb is "garbage"

spin nothing...

Sean smith is rotten garbage, Davis has talent but will be a career backup scrub. While we're at it Daniel Thomas is another scrub.

Lmao, boy did this thread go off in a strange direction

davis outside of revis could be the 2nd best corner in the afc...the staff even knows it...all the talent in the world...but he doesn't want it...frustrating...still you take him out of the lineup and the corners wear a target...

egnews getting like 10 plays a game or something with the future 9 to 5ers...big deal if he makes a catch against that camp fodder

You know y Davis will never put all that physical talent into becoming a pro bowl corner becuz he's dumb as an ox. Have you heard him talk mofo sounds like Rick James.

So 2 pre-season games in and everyone is ready to fold on the kid?

Sheesh, just because hard knocks put in a good clip of a young kid being chewed out with a "Welcome to the NFL, this is a business" speech everyone is ready to throw him out and label him a failure?

Cmon now.

And for everyone crying about 3rd round picks not being project players what about Jimmy Graham?

Disclaimer: I am in no way saying Egnew is the next Jimmy Graham.

Give the guy some time.
