Tannehill is not a winner, folks!!!

so we start moore this year then tannehill goes through the rookie growing pains next year. Matt moore is not the future of this francvhise tannehill is. Matt moore is what he is. A decent stop gap transitional qb. Moore is a great backup but he's just not starting material.

AND AS OF RIGHT NOW EVERYBODY CAN MAKE AN ARGUEMENT THAT Tanny isnt starting material ? only because WE DIDNT GO OUT AND GET HIM SOME DECENT HELP AT WR , when T.O. was/is still out there right along with Plax , and BOTH PLAYERS had almost 1,000 yards respective , and most important THEY NEVER GOT INTO TROUBLE, yeah , we can say that they were locker room cancers , but ive never seen NOTHING to prove that , and esp the last year they both played they were on very good behavier , so imo we can put the blame on the coaching staff for not bringing in some talent at WR , and imo it didnt help Tanny much at all for playin this year excp getting his feet wet .

Would you have said the same about Payton Manning in his first year! Look at Payton's record and number of interceptions. Tannehill has no weapons to throw to. He is a gun slinger with no weapons.

and whos fault is that ? the damn FO FOR NOT GOING OUT AND BRINGING IN THE 2 VETS THAT WOULD HAVE HELPED US TERMENDOUSLY. T.O. AND Plax.

Tannehill has regressed because the offense around him is regressing. Think about it. Jake Long is getting worse by the week. You can tell Tannehill feels a lot more uncomfortable in the pocket the last few weeks than when he was in early October. Long is going to get Tannehill killed. Martin is regressing, he's starting to get beat a lot as well. Incognito and all his boneheaded penalties is killing the offense's momentum, pushing Miami back, putting Tannehill in 3rd and longs. Reggie Bush has obviously regressed as well... fumbling, dancing, giving himself up easily instead of running over defenders, just ineffective out there. Hartline, again regressing. Missing in action most of the time, pushing off or fumbling. I mean if the offense is crumbling around you, it's hard to expect Tannehill to continue play great. Against Tennessee and Buffalo, Tannehill seemed to be trying to do too much and was forcing passes cause I guess he saw no one else on offense was doing anything to make a play. Offensive line has got to get better...I think that happens by getting rid of Long next season.

This is the strangest thread.

1) This is how you spell "ridiculous."

2) Aaron Rodgers didn't sit after being drafted because of some master plan. Aaron Rodgers sat because Green Bay had this Brett Favre guy who was playing pretty well.

3) We're really having these conversations about Tannehill after ten games?

Quick, how many comebacks did Peyton Manning, Troy Aikman, and John Elway have in their first seasons? Seeing as those three won a COMBINED seven games in their first seasons, it certainly wasn't many. it took Peyton Manning until Week 10 of his rookie season to have his first comeback win. Up until that point, he was 1-8. And he had these two guys on his team named Marvin Harrison and Marshall Faulk.

Aikman? He didn't get his first comeback win until the first game...of his second season. It was also his first in of any kind in the pros. He didn't win anything in his first season, with Herschel Walker and Michael Irvin.

I think all that we've firmly established thus far is that Tannehill is a rookie QB who is making mistakes that were expected, and that we don't have any future Hall of Famers at WR or RB.

I really wish the comparison with Manning would not be made. Peyton had 28 INTs in his very first year but also 26TDs and threw for almost 4000 yards. To pull comparisons of any HOFer or potential HOFer with Tannehill is ridiculous. Just as declaring Tannehill a complete bust. With every Manning or Brady or Rodgers comparison I could pull a Sanchez or Leaf comparison.

The notion of 'we have crap for receivers' does not hold either. We may not have bonifide downfield receivers but that our receivers can get open deep we have seen. If Bess is 30 yards downfield and he is overthrown for an INT it certainly is not on 'our receivers are too slow'. We certainly don't have the speed of a Marshal, Moss or Ocho to go down the field on a regular basis but it is not like our receivers are chicken ****.

Instead of declaring Tannehill the next franchise QB or a complete bust we all should be wondering if he ever overcomes the 'rookie wall'. The rookie wall is a nice phrase to explain the adjustment opponents make based on film they can now watch. Taking away the strength of a rookie QB and pushing him into his weakness IS the rookie wall. Those coaches who can overcame these type of game plans with better play selections become great coaches. And those rookie QBs who can force their will and strength onto opposing Ds with success become franchise QBs.

Don't bet the farm on that speculation..........Ireland will be back next year, the front office hates a winner//////
The nfl is hard to win and that bills team couldn't wait to win this game...every point the fins scored they came back..no way the fins were gonna win this one ..on a good side note ..jeff ireland will get fired.

So cut him after 10 games b/c he's a loser and will never at any point in his career improve. Oh if only that happened to other QBs in the league.

Easier said than done when Favre, a HOF QB, was starting over Rodgers.

it was sarcasm

What about the offensive line giving him enough time to set for his throws? oh yea enough said. What about the wide receivers gaining separation down the field to stretch the defense i.e. Davone Bess on 9 routes? oh yea enough said. What about the running game thats supposed to run against the worst defense in the NFL to help a rookie with less than 30 career starts at QB? oh yea enough said. There is more than one moving part to a team.

Completely disagree, with what Tann has to work with he has done well. The run game has stalled and the oline is not performing as well as it should be. Plus the kids a rookie, henne sucked, tanne will be very good. He is no Marino, but he shows poise and when he makes a mistake he shakes it off and gets back to work. He is a leader and he will get his hands around the offense with the help of great coaching.

For comparisons sake, you can most defiantly compare a rookie to a rookie's past. Thats all the comparison is. Its what Peyton did the next season that truly showed his growth. Oh yea he had Marshall Faulk, Marvin Harrison, Marcus Pollard to help get all those touchdowns.

Review the play over again. Davone lost the ball in the air because Ryan made a check to him at the LOS. You can see Davone whip his head around looking for it. Thats what Ryan feels comfortable with is a WR whose top speed is 4.79 and stands a mere 5'10. He gains his separation in the slot and when split wide hes thrown slants and back shoulders. The Dolphins don't have crap WR, but the the certainly have NO DEEP THREAT. Just because they can run deep doesn't mean there a threat. Any reason why Hartline hasn't had a game like Arizona? Teams have taken that away.

Manning threw 26 TDs his rookie season and Tannehill threw 6 so far. Your comparison is just not reasonable. You cannot choose record and ints while ignoring the vast difference in ability to score. The lack of weapons clearly holds Tanne back, but not that much. I agree that it is way too early to give up on the kid, but it is not too early to be concerned about his inability to convert TDs.

More protection would help, but there were plenty of throws he missed where he has the opportunity to step into the throw to complete it. His mechanics have regressed after the injury.

He has not shown poise and accuracy the last three games. It is insane to say this kid is going to be good. He might be, but he has to show he can do it. It is should be clear to everyone that Tanne. has more potential than Moore and Henne, but it is only potential at this moment.
