Universal Draft Mock Draft by CK (1st of 3)

CK.

Re your comments on Wake.. "They have expressed continued discomfort with Cameron Wake playing LB"

Do you see him as possible trade bait to a playoff contender running a 40 front in need of a specialist pash rusher. Could he garner a low 2nd/high 3rd?

The problem is he's shown SO much promise as a pass rusher, I would not want to give him up short of a 1st round draft pick...and that's a price that any team that hasn't already been coaching him would be nuts to pay.

just read that miami has met with rodger saffold according to scout.com and that seattle has met with charles brown...

oy vey...i read it wrong...saffold mentioned mia as 1 of 7 teams that were hot on his trail...

i guess i jumped the gun on the meeting at the combine...my bad

i wouldn't give him up for less than a 1st either...i really wouldn't...and i'd have to consider a late 1st rounder...

cam wake is an ELITE pass rusher...he really is

I think they will definitely want a G/T in this draft. They will absolutely take one at some point. They will also take an athletic TE. You can bank on both of those.

Their conversation with Austen Lane at the Senior Bowl? Strictly about the possibility of him playing TE, if I've heard right.

i agree...john jerry ciron black rodger saffold all in play imo as g/t guys to keep an eye on...

i prefer jerry and saffold

omar kelly said the last 2 years this regime has been seriously considering taking a te with a high pick...

last year it was pettigrew the year prior dustin keller...i think they get one within the first 4 rounds...

It's up for debate and I basically decided between Bryant and Spiller for that pick but the bottom line for me is they added Massaquoi and Robiskie in the 2nd round, they're going to want to really ramp up Josh Cribbs' value as a player because of what he can do with the ball in his hands, they acquired Chansi Stuckey in the Braylon Edwards trade and they have a Greg Camarillo guy in Mike Furrey.

James Davis took all of 29 snaps in 2009. How anyone can figure him into the mix as far as a reason to not take a guy in the draft, I'm not sure. Jerome Harrison did pretty well but he was behind an offensive line that has a lot of talent and I felt like he was just a mediocre guy carrying the ball, not someone that the defense will have to constantly worry about like I believe C.J. Spiller could end up.

We'll see how it goes. I try to go on Mike Holmgren's history. He does seem to value the RB position as one of his core positions he likes to build on a winner, along with QB and LT. I'm not sure he views the WR position the same way...he may think he can get away with the current guys.

James Davis impressed quite a bit before he got injured. I would imagine that he and Harrison are very much in their plans next year.

John Jerry is a popular man.

Alen1 from The Phins just told me that in his interviews Rodger Saffold has been telling teams that his back issues were a serious overhang in the past and they totally went away this year, which is why he has played so much better. He said that he used to wear a back brace to go to bed and couldn't bend over to put his socks on.

Draft a G/T and if he is good enough, start him at RT and move Carey to LG beside Long and you have the best left side in football!

I like the pick CK. If they double up on the olb position who do yousee them taking? I personally would love to see them take Scheffield of Troy. I think he is going to end up being a big time player! Of course he will need more refinement, but there's something about him. During the senior bowl he jumped out at me as a game changer.

I also like Cameron Sheffield but don't sleep on Antonio Coleman, I'll say that right now he could be a player for this system.

i like both those guys also...

i'm interested in hearing where you would plug each of them in that mike nolan defensive scenario that you posted earlier...

They'd have to take him a few rounds higher...pre combine, right?

Can only hope it's Jason Worilds. As for TE, from everything I''ve heard, seems the coaching staff is very high on Jimmy Graham. Boy would it be great if he fell to us in the 3rd. He's going to be something special.
