Flores Backs Tua

Thanks brother! Yeah, Grier impressed me with two things he did last draft cycle that don't even really show up in the actual draft.

1) Grier used his poker face WELL!!! We see the same thing in Coach Flo's injury reports, and while tough on us news-junkies, it really is a value-add.

2) Grier moved up and down the draft board adeptly identifying places where value met our specific needs and the desires of the Coaching Staff. You could tell Coach Flo was happy about the physical OL like Solomon Kindley, and getting the Coach players that can play his style is extremely important. So Grier being able to get value AND need AND in the style the Coach wants is really impressive. Some GM's can't wheel and deal to make the moves, others don't identify the tiers of value properly, and many cannot get the Coaches the skill sets and styles they require. From our standpoint, it just seems neat that all of the players seem to fit our style nicely and the coaches can improve their games. But that's all a big complement to Grier & Co. for getting all of those little things right.
What made you pick up on a potential disinformation campaign against Tua? I thought about posting those exact thoughts. Seems like you've read my mind. Although, I'll admit, I'm nervous this article, by Armando, could be true; because of the negative implications on team chemistry and culture.

You're being modest @dolfan91 !

I'm pretty sure during the offseason before we drafted Tua you did point out that it might be a disinformation campaign!

The hot stove time of year has always fascinated me and we did it so poorly before Grier took over. Tannenbaum was terrible at it. But with Grier and Coach Flo, we seemed to put out conflicting information about once every 2 weeks or so. We intentionally leaked so much information that nobody knew which was real and which was fake. Then Grier never tipped his hand and said just enough about each QB to thoroughly confuse everyone as to who he really liked. Now having seen him over this time, it is clear he is a master puppeteer pulling the strings on smokescreens galore and has finally figured out how to plug the leaks that have always plagued our front office staffs in the past.

This is ot but did Josh allen ever beat a ranked team?

y’all need to stop with these stupid *** narratives
Boise State and San Diego State 2016. Two very tight games. I lost a wager on the Aztecs but won and covered the rematch in the conference title game two weeks later.

I guess it's true nobody watches those Mountain West -- and similar -- late night games. Otherwise that answer would have been well known. When I lived in Las Vegas those games were early evening first bail out opportunity but the jam packed rooting interest game was always the nightcap Hawaii game. It was surreal how the sportsbooks would always be totally full with degenerates sweating Hawaii football. Then whoever cashed would dash to the window and roll it over on an early NFL game the next morning...10 AM start.

alright and boise was probably a pretty good outfit then. That blue field was hard on the eyes.

thanks for the heads up

No actually... I basically said that he might believe it, but his statement was worthless because all coaches defend the guy their career rests upon.

It is called nuance. You might want to look that up too.

Have you heard of a deductive fallacy? Those are fun.

Here's why your statement is one: You have no idea if Flores's career rests upon Tua's success. I'd actually wager in the other direction, as Flores seems committed to building a team *around* a QB. If Tua isn't the answer, I'd wager he'll keep looking, and barring a total collapse and division in the Front Office, he'll still be here.

Regarding why Flores backs Tua? I'm gonna go with rickd13 here. Occam says hi.

Ok, I’m asking, what is the purpose of a blue field? I may sound ignorant here but is there anything to it or just aesthetic?

Flores has already shown if you ain’t cutting the mustard you’re gone. He’ll be patient with those he feels he can win with. I don’t believe his job depends on Tua at all. If Tua fails he’ll have another shot with another QB

You have people that are not happy with Tua as a QB, and didn't like what they saw. And you also have people who want to give Tua the benefit of the doubt. Where can Tua, and non-Tua fans meet halfway here? If you are going to make a post based on a comment a member of the team made as an actual determinator of what is actually going to happen months for now in order to satisfy the Tua fan base that isn't really going to sit well with people that saw Tua get benched once, and almost three times had Fitz not been there. It is an actual fact that Tua needs more development than any of the top quarterbacks drafted, and this team has made it clear that they want to win now. With that said, do not be surprised if we end up replacing Tua in the draft, or through the draft. Just because we back up a player now, doesn't mean we will back them up. This league is about performance, not favoritism.

I have no idea unless it has something to do with those intense colds that area gets

your guess is as good as mine

that would also be debatable

Yep. Every time I see that blue field...

I also think in the background the owner loves the type of stability he seems to bring to the organization. Nationally he's being recognized as a pretty good coach already in his infancy. Those aren't accolades you heard thrown at Gase, Philbin etc.

I like Tua and hope for his success. But there's something about his whole set-up coming out with the injury etc that just tells me Flo wasn't the one pounding the table for him. It doesn't mean he didn't think he wouldn't be successful. It just meand Flo wasn't necessarily the one leading the charge for him.

At this stage, outside of some crazy trade scenario, i can't see this FO giving Tua anything less than 3 years minimum. Coach Flo seems big on development. Especially for young players that are hungry and humble for it. He practically called Tua his son. That kinda statement isn't one that's thrown out there lightly. He's going to give that kid more than enough opportunity to build and grow and prove that he has what it takes to belong.

As for Tua all indications are outside of injury if surrounded my more talent he's going to be successful. I'm not sure if he'll ever be elite. But I think his work ethic and make up suggest at worst he'll be a good QB top 15 in this league.
