Hmm... Odd. I thought calling someone a hypocrit, as you did in your first post, to be the equivalent of saying someone "sucks", and, as you stated in your last post, "look at all the wins we're posting up, glad you came to your senses" to be about the same as "I told you so". Guess I did miss your point. (shrug).

see, thats you just making assumptions, and your interpretation of the whole idea of this thread.

1) just becuase someone is a "hypocrite" doesn't mean they "suck". that may be your definition, but its not mine.

2) again, your not thinking the same way I am. My "glad you came to your senses" comment, does not mean "I told you so". in your eyes, maybe. but not mine.

Well, care to tell us what the point is this time? Or will it change again when someone points out the inconsistencies?

 ......... Sorry bud, no inconsistencies. Hey, I said from the very beginning not to get offened if your name is on the list.

My whole theory is that is that if/when Ricky comes back and contributes positively to the team, that the Ricky nay-sayers will be right back on the "Run-Ricky-Run" bandwagon. All I plan on doing is pointing it out, and saying how wrong it is do something to a human being like that. ya know? saying stuff like, "Oh I dont want that low life scumb bag anywhere near this team"........only to say later , "Wow! What a great 30 yard TD by Ricky!!!....I'm so glad he's back, I never doubted him for a second......Run-Ricky-Run"!!! (know what I mean????)

Again, I wont laugh in your face and said i told you so, I wont be mad one bit, I'll just point out the serious character flaws in the band wagon jumpers. (but i wont be upset one bit!!!)

Agua, thats as cut and dry as I can put it, if you still cant comprehend it, just dont click the thread anymore, dont respond anymore, put me on your ignore list for all I care

What will constitute the "run-Ricky-run" bandwagon? Will cheering when he rips off a play which results in a good outcome for the Phins constitute the bandwagon? I can absolutely detest him and cheer for the Phins, just as I can admire Thurman Thomas for his physical skills, or OJ Simpson, even, and still hate both of those players as well as the Bills.

You're ignoring the distinctions between: 1) cheering a positive result for the TEAM (which is the reason I watch football, not any player); 2) being able to recognize and comment upon physical talent without being a fan of a player.

That is why it is absurd to call anyone a hypocrit (which, in my book, is one of the "suckiest" things you can say about someone) if they cheer for positive results produced by RopeWeed simply because they don't want him on the team. Likewise, saying, "He's unreal as a player, but he sucks" contains no contradiction and provides no basis to call anyone a hypocrit. It is no more valid than the point some other poster made: you could put together a list of people who are thrilled RW is back and call it "list of people who want to have homosexual sex with RopeWeed". In both instances, there's no connection between the premise and the conclusion.

The problem with your post (the little bit that is intelligible) is that you are basing all your arguments on hypotheticals rather than facts. Most of us live in the real world and are piecing together an argument based on "real world facts".
You have made numerous references to Ricky's wonderful comeback, but I am suggesting that the likelihood of this occuring is low, and that the potential risk of bringing him back is greater. THIS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH HOW I FEEL FOR RICKY WILLIAMS PERSONALLY. I am not attacking him as a person,. I am simply criticizing him as a professional player. You need to understand the difference here. I think that you have some strong feelings for Ricky that obfuscate your ability to accept Ricky's past. This isn't about "second chances" (and incidentally, even if it were, he has failed 4 drug tests, pi$$ed off two organisations, and made countless foolish statements to the press), it is about a reasonable assessment of Ricky's ability to contribute to the team.
Please don't respond with another post arguing 'Oh yeah. well...If Ricky runs for 3400 yds, you will look like a fool, and I'll point it out, and blah, blah blah'. It is the same as someone posting somehting to the effect of 'You will all look like idiots if Leonard Henry runs for 22 TDS and 1800 yds with a new NFL team'. It is nothing more than drivel.

Good post, I was going to post the same thing, but the boards have blown up with Ricky threads...let's keep track of those people that hate on Ricky.

If you hate Ricky please let it be known on this thread.

and let's keep track of how many more people change their tune about ricky, and want him back.

last july, i'd say about 90% of people absolutely hated ricky for what he did. and now, a large majority of those same people want him back. i think it is an absolute joke that so many people are willing to stoop to such a level, and have this loser back on our team.

for those who forgot: ricky QUIT on this team, right before training camp. he did so because he "did not have a passion for football". he also left because it was more important for him continue the use of illegal drugs. ricky QUIT on this team -- what makes you think he won't do it again?! he has been given several chances before, so why another one?! some of you people need to have some standards/morals and respect/self-dignity as to where to draw the line. how many times do you want to let ricky f*** you in the a**?!

ricky QUIT on this team. the way he did it, and the reasons he did it for were absolutely rediculous. and it shows his true colors as far as being a man/athlete/professional/etc. we do not need a distraction/problem like this on our team. we are trying to rebuild. let's leave this idiot in the past!

You have to admit......there is waaaaaay too much crying and moaning about Ricky coming back to the team.

Just for the record, I'm gonna keep track of all the Ricky haters, and when Ricky and Ronnie are busting 100 yard games a piece, and we're winning games left and right, all Ricky haters that praise him will be none other than hypocrites.

Personally I could care less what kind of records you keep.

F$$$ RICKY the pipe puffer......

Everyone, dont get offended or anything if your name is on the Ricky hater list..... I dont even know why I care, but I would like to keep track of all the ricky haters. Like I said, when Ricky + Ronnie are having all these amazing games, and all of us dolfans are going nuts b/c our team is just beyond amazing, I wanna be able to say, "Hey ______, I'm glad you've come to your senses" :D

p.s. I'll be editing alot, adding names of the Ricky haters thus far. if you have a question mark by your name, I'm only assuming you have your thumbs down for ricky's return based on your post

Fans against Ricky coming back to the phins

Now don't go getting offended by my reply here......like you said right?

I'd like to answer your I don't even know why I care sentence.

Brutha you have been sniffing Ricky's jock since the day he left, blaming everything but the real reason, as to why he did what he did. And every time someone like myself says something bad about him, it makes you mad. Don't even try and tell me it don't because otherwise you would have never made this thread.

Again, don't get offended OK? Like you said right?

I understand that your reasons are plain and simple. You are a Ricky Williams fan, and I'll never hold that against you.

See for me it's also simple. I am a team fan, not really a players fan. Take Patrick Surtain for example. He was my favorite player to watch for the last two years, but the second he was traded he became the enemy. Had Dan Marino signed with the Vikings, and had he started for them when they played Miami that year, he would have been the enemy. I would have wanted that to be his worst game. Ten sacks, 15 ints, and 7 fumbles, to go along with a black eye, and multiple bruises!!

Ricky totally dissed my team, and that my friend is a no no!

I don't think you will ever get the chance to call me anything in this situation though because I don't care if he breaks a 99 yard TD run on his first carry. I'll be jumping up and down because my team just scored 6 points, but while I'm jumping I won't be clapping. You know why? Because my hands will be tied up shooting him the bird!!!!

But you do need to be corrected here. I do not hate Ricky Williams the person. I just do not think, he deserves FOOTBALL!!!! Especially the Miami Dolphins!!!

Now let him apologize to the fans, with no excuses needed. Just a plain, Yo my bad, would do. Then, and only then will I ever reconsider.

Like it or not, Ricky truly helped this team! Him quitting set forth a chain of events that helped our team in the long run. I was mad at 1st when he quit but now looking back, WOW!!! He helped the team! So all I can say is Thank you, Ricky but please don't do that Sh_t again! As long as you have a Dolphin jersey on your back and scoring TD's all is forgiven.

Sign me up for this circus but hear me out first.

I'm a Ronnie Brown fan, a few years back I was a Ricky Williams fan, but one thing is clear -- I'm a Miami Dolphins fan. I will support the team perogative. I am down for what is best for this team -- and that is why, in my humble opinion, I don't see how Ricky is good for this team.

In an ideal world, Ricky would have stayed, rushed for a buck + and we'd be sitting sweet. But he'd be ageing, still smoking dope behind the scenes, getting beat up, masking the true problems, Wannstedt would still be the coach, mighty Chris Foerster would still be calling the Offensive shots. We probably would have drafted another closet lineman. Sweet huh?

So before you guys begin to start the "Hail Ricky" preaching again, remember that wishful thinking, situational reality and a downright reality check big enough to make Tony Bua cringe can only leave the past in the closet. We look toward the future and if an out of game, out of mind, ageing, slowed, pseudo-astro-bodied, calisthenically uncertain, lightweight, Ricky Williams (dashing likely megolomania created by a startling Ronnie Brown, likely only making a return to fund incurred debts) is the best this for this team -- then bring him back.

But put me on your damn list for all I care -- At least I haven't moved from where I was a week before training camp last season.

lol!!!

Does he owe you or us the fans, or the team an apology?

He doesn't really owe the fans anything. If you want him to apologize or acknowledge what he did to the team? Well he already did that.

He made it public he was selfish and hurt the team. He didn't use excuses simply said he was wrong!!!

So what do you want? You want him to apologize to you personally. Someone he didn't know? Someone who he didn't get on the football field with? Someone who means absolutely nothing to him?

Morally, yes he should apologize. Because only in theory did he truly let the fans down.

Realistically, he doesn't owe the fans any excuses or apologies. Cause in reality he let the team not the fans down.
