keith butler is being groomed to replace Lebeau. the Cardinals tried to hire him as part of their staff last year but the Steelers prevented it. He's that highly valued.
They can stop a lateral move but it would be a promotion and I would be willing to bet he would work with Cowher.

Here's my question: Cowher's wife passed away recently. Will he be the same guy?

Shula wasn't...

I thought about this too. The difference is Cowher quit coaching the Steeler's because he wanted to spend more time with his family and wife before she passed away. I would tend to think that Cowher wouldn't come back if his heart wasn't 100% in it. He just doesn't have that half *** it mentallity. There is probably a huge void in his life now that his wife is gone and now he needs to fill it. Hopefully it's with the task and responsibility of rebuilding this once great franchise.

On a side note don't forget about Tom Clements as QB coach or possibly the OC. He is the QB coach responsible for the development of Big Ben in Pitt and has been the QB coach in Green Bay since 2004 (Aaron Rodgers).

Yeah, but that was while being supported by a top-notch front office...

You can block people from interviewing for another coaching job as long as it isn't HC. Arizona tried twice to get Butler as DC; once they were denied and a second time he turned them down. That same year, Butler turned US down the chance to be DC.

As for the question on Omar Kahn. Cowher wants somebody he knows he can work with to put a team together. Kahn, while an administrator, is a guy who wants to be involved with player movement. Hell, he's one of the reasons Pittsburgh hasn't had cap problems. I don't know how true the rumor is, but one rumor out there is that the reason Cowher didn't go to the Bills is they refused to hire Omar Kahn.

Like other have said.....I'm down with this but will wait till is official before I start jumping up and down

Ozzy rules!!

Don't know about Tom Moore...he's pretty old, a few notches above 70. I believe he'd be older than Dan Henning when he arrived here.

What did Tom Moore actually do in Indy besides sit there and let Peyton Manning make him look good?

I agree. I want someone like Pete carmichael Jr. I want some young fired up coach. Tony Dungy would be ok as well.

How can you say u want a young fired up head coach OR Dungy? lmao. . . .Thats polar opposites defined to a tee! lol

Cower or Bust !!! He is our best chance of true rebuilding this team. Shula was the Jaw and Cower is the Chin !!! J.J. was on his way and his mother died and WH wouldn't let him goto his mom's funeral and made him coach that day in Denvor. Then he quit.

Bill C. as head coach with him bringing in known and proven OC, DC & positional coaches, would have nearly as much effect on this franchise as a #1 QB. But with that said, we still need a frachise type QB for the new FO to work with. But as has been said before, until a signature is on the dotted line . .. . . . I'm not believing anything!

Not the biggest fan of Cowher, but I do know this. What this team needs is a coach that will demand respect and have his players playing up to their potential. I think he has the passion and resume to do this
