MERGED4x: Virus alert/Trojans/Ads

Could you screenshot the ads that are on the site when it happens? That way we can figure out what ads may be causing it. Don't screenshot the pop ups, screenshot finheaven when it happens and post it here please.

it appears to be the majority of them.

Could you screenshot the finheaven page please so we can see which ads are showing at the time you get a redirect, pop-up, or warning? The ads are different each time, so we need to figure out which one(s) is causing the problems.

Yeah, happened to me like 5 times today, including like 2 mins ago it went to something called jump and I had to click back like 10,000 times rapid-fire to get back to here.

Yup. I keep getting the ChinaTV one and a few others. Really friggin annoying.

I just refreshed the main Miami Dolphins talk boards page and got redirected to yellow.com, a yellow pages website. This is new as I'm usually taken to China TV.

edit: just got http://www.travian.us as well, not sure what ads are causing these because I have adblock so the ads are blocked most of the time.

every modern keyboard has a "print screen" button close to the number keypad. hit that button, then open MS paint... "control+V button when paint is open." save it to your desktop. then upload it to photobucket etc and provide a link.

just make sure you don't have any personal info in the screenie. if you do "paint it out"

Where it is taking you is only the effect, we're trying to find the cause. That's why we need the screenshot so we can find the source of the redirect. We can't really do much with knowing where it takes you. Please follow Wildbill's instruction's above for assistance in creating a screenshot if you don't know how.

I got redirected when there was an advertisement with a Christmas Tree in it... I know that is not what you want, but all I've got... it took me to a page called Shopica.com... now everytime I search on Google, Bing, etc. it takes me back to that page (or one calles Aspect) instead of my search link... I have run Malware, Spybot, RootDoctor, and my McCaffee and can't find the virus.... any suggestions?

Have you deleted your cookies, browsing history, etc?

Landshark and ebozzz in the other virus thread may be able to help you out.

About 2 weeks ago I started getting a lot of warning from AVG. Then at times I would get these false warnings saying I was infected and needed to scan or install some anti-virus program. I researched this and found that it's a trojan/virus. I scanned and cleaned my computer with malwarebytes, AVG and SuperAntiSpyware. These 3 programs found tons of trojans and viruses on my computer. I thought I had fixed everything and even asked my wife to stop surfing some of her "gossip" magazine sites because I thought they were the problem.

However, I logged onto my computer the other day and found that my entire harddrive had crashed because of these trojans/viruses. I had to reformat my entire hard drive. I just finished reinstalling everything this morning. I reloaded AVG, Malwarebytes and Comodo Firewall. I then asked my wife to open up each of those sites that she visits. No warnings. Then, just a few minutes ago I open this site and all three of my programs went berserk. Firefox closed and a rouge program tried to download and told me that I was infected and needed to scan my computer with some BS anti-virus program. My AVG, Malwarebytes and firewall stopped it this time.

I know this is a long post, but I just wanted to let everyone know that this site is full of Trojans that will seriously harm your computer. I lost EVERYTHING! I just did a google search and found this thread so i thought I'd post a warning and let the Admins know I will not be coming back. This is BS!!!!!

I was just prompted to install a fake anti-virus scanner.
Sorry wasn't able to grab which ad caused it as it redirected me before I could get a screenshot.
ONe of those ones where you get the popup box asking you if you want to install with the OK and Cancel button and you click cancel it still proceeds with the install.

This "phishing" is getting annoying. I keep getting pop-ups and have to kill the IEXPLORE process, or I am redirected to sites without even clicking on anything. I know they want advertising...but they have to be discerning. The sites these are going to are malicious.

It is pretty obvious that if it is not in the page itself...it is in the advertising you are using...or the server is infected...

If it was my site, I would let the advertising company know I was taking my hit counts elsewhere for advertising purposes. Seems like the reports of virus' started with a change in the AD layouts.
