Also, let’s not forget;

it was WEEK 2. A raw rookie vs ALL PRO wide receiver Stefon Diggs. Byron Jones was supposed to be on him but hurt his groin early in the game (Jones still wouldn’t have fully ‘stopped’ him) ... what rookie corners are coming in to the league and stopping him? Using that game as a barometer is piss poor.

I’m not sure why in that game we didn’t just put X on Diggs and call it a day, let Igbo try to cover John Brown who wouldn’t be as terrible of matchup

How about Iggy works on replacing Needham before he tries replacing top dog?
Thats actually a BAD comparison. Needham is a slot corner/nickel back NOT a boundary corner. Although similar they are actually 2 different skills sets. Most DB’s can’t do both equally well. Iggy is better, or at least early on and right now, better as a boundary CB than he is a slot guy.

It was the dumbest draft pick since Harris.
They had a choice of Taylor, Edwards- Helaire, JK, Akers, Swift. All which will certainly be 1000 yard rushers and alot better than Gaskin. Just a botched pick.

It wasn’t a literal comparison to what they do. It was more of a: let’s not try and go from crawling to running In just one year

Not too many 20-year-olds have NFL playing experience, he does. So if you look at an average draft age of 22 years old, he will already have 2 seasons of professional experience once he reaches the age he should have been drafted at. No college program can match that experience from a competition level. So you're going to have a 22-year-old with professional training, coaching, and NFL game experience. You'll never draft a CB with those attributes straight out of college so look at it that way, it's a better perspective...
Wow I had forgotten about this or never realized it. He’s 20?

Hindsight makes this easy to say now. Give it 2 years and see if you think the same. It's a lot more difficult to find a starting-caliber CB than it is a RB. And remember, we didn't have much of a line to run behind, doubt any of those guys put up the same numbers if they were here...

Those 5 RBs are legit top 20 players at their position right now.
Iggy is a benchwarmer that might be a good special teams player. There is zero defense drafting a guy that was a late 2nd round talent at best.

It would have been stupid to take a RB in the first round. Corner so much more valuable and paid much more. Luckily we have a real GM running the show and not whiny fans so incredibly down on a 21 year old rookie with no camp. Almost all corners struggle early, big surprise there, jeez. It took Maddison and Surtain a couple years to become the studs we remember, they had to take their lumps as rookies too.
