Running and defense wins championships

They gave up 2 1sts and a 3rd to trade up to get Mahomes. I don't think you thought this post through.

Apparently, all teams that acquired top QB and have success did so through sorcery, On another note, it seems like Miami only has 5 picks over the next two years and cannot possibly give up anything.

Winning a Super Bow is so....situation based. Going through a season with minimal injuries, having players step up and play beyond their norm, other teams failing. I think the idea that KC will always be in a position to make that run....same with Seattle. Whether or not these teams actually get there in win it a bunch of times, while desirable, is not typical. Being in a consistent position is what you want...those 11 plus win seasons, playoff every year...that is the end goal.

The big difference between KC and Seattle imo is that KC has an A+ playcaller, and Seattle has, and has had, a D+ playcaller.

It's all very simple

Patrick Mahomes is why you take the chance on Tua. One hundred times out of one hundred. Gamble on greatness - the only gamble is if he'll stay healthy because the kid is already an elite level QB. Nobody else we can get with our picks could do what Tua could for us

Tired of mediocrity? Gamble on greatness.

I'm bringing wisdom to the main forum and it's glorious.

He is not wrong here. But inwoul also argue it's not just Tua it is any QB. If you feel the QB has all the tools you need for your system go get the guy. Dont just take a QB to take a QB. Also dont pass one QB because you have someone that has some skills that you think may develop

Tua is that guy, Brett. It's very obvious how special he is.

18-22 of passing using the p/a including Kittles push off - and yet he couldn’t drive when it counted

Garappolo is a very good QB on a very good offense...as long as they are playing with the lead. As soon as they are forced to pass to win and can't rely on running or play action, they are screwed. Everyone knew Mahomes was throwing the ball in the 4th and no one could do Jack about it.

As great a college QB Tua was, he is no Mahomes. In fact there is no other QB in the NFL who is as great as Mahomes and that includes Jackson. With 3 surgeries and an injury to his knee all in the last two years, I just don’t see Tua holding up physically in the NFL. I would have no problem at all seeing the Dolphins passing on Tua at 5 and instead taking the best offensive or defensive lineman on the board with that pick.

I did not know you were the official college quarterback expert I had to listen to.

how many people had confidence that Jimmy G would drive that offense down the field and score when needed? I sure didn’t.

He's Tannehill and there's no shame in that. Those type of quarterbacks are good when things are working, but not good enough when things aren't. Knowing that and how the team is built, the 49ers lost last night because their defense couldn't get a stop in the 4th quarter, not because Jimmy G couldn't all of a sudden turn into an elite QB.
