That's elite, right there!

So... volume stats? In terms of individual stats/performance?
Herbert.
Set the rookie record for total TDs in a season with 36, breaking Newtons record of 35Tds.
Set the rookie record for passing TDs with 31, previously held by Mayfield who had 28 TDs
Set the completion record, previously set by Wentz.
All in 15 games.
So... volume stats?
Right, but when a QB plays really well with volume stats the efficiency ones usually come with it.When most people talk about QB's and how good they are, they bring up stats.
It's yardage and TDs/limiting INTs.
I mean people talk up Marino as one of the best yet he won jack **** and no one remembers Trent Dilfer.
Unless you want the answer to be Dak Prescott from 2016 who went 13-3 W-L, 23 passing TD 4 ints, with 3200 yards and 6 rushing TDS.
Simply cause the team won, yet if you followed them he was an efficient bus driver and the team won games due to a dominating rushing game lead by Zeke & their offensive line.

Herbert threw the 3rd most passing attempts a game, right behind Big Ben and Burrow. This isn't a normal occurrence for rookie QBs to have to throw that much so you're looking at records that are related to him just throwing a bunch of times on a team with good offensive weapons. It's equivalent to a guy averaging 25 points a game in the NBA on a bad team because he shot the ball a ton. He may be shooting 40%, but he scored points!
He had a good season. I just am not going to get seduced by volume stats like a bunch of others seem to be.
