Tannehill To Bengals A Possibility

Tannehill would be a good upgrade for the Bengals. Andy Dalton has an arm that isn't capable of making certain NFL throws. The Bengals frequently ask him to throw hard outside and that's when he gets into a lot of trouble. Ryan Tannehill throws hard outside really well. In fact, that was really all he did his first two years in the NFL. You tell him "throw the ball to AJ" and you're going to get a lot of production out of those two.

I could see this making sense, but my guess is he might wind up in Washington. Alex Smith looks like his career might be finished and Jay Gruden wants a quarterback who can put it over the top, execute the scheme, and avoid turnovers.

If we can get a fourth even a fifth round pick I would be really happy..

I can justify that for a backup QB.

How so? Where is the teams leverage, at least before the draft? You gonna hang onto RT until August in the hopes that a starter gets hurt in training camp?

Tannehill has all the leverage he needs to pick his new spot. It’s incorrect to assume that he will in any way cooperate in assisting a trade to happen. Which he has every right to.

While I love the kid, his trade value was destroyed at seasons end. And while I think he's more talented then Nick Foles, NF will likely draw alot more attention and likely end up in Denver.

Had Washington not made the dumb Alex Smith move, maybe they'd consider a gamble. 2 years in a row after losing their 2nd rounder for the entire season last year?

Giants and Jags. Maybe, but Murray and Haskins will end up on 2 rosters. These seem like the 2 more likely.

It doesn't really matter if Tannehill cooperates or not. Miami is going to eat $13 million either if they release or trade Tannehill (unless I'm mistaken on the trade hit they take with him). The key isn't if Tannehill wants to renegotiate his contract in 2019. It's that his dead cap hit in 2020 is under $6 million. Would a team that's NOT rebuilding give up a fourth or fifth rounder for him on what's basically a one year "show me" contract? It's not out of the question.

Sam Bradford was 27 at the time. Ryan Tannehill is 30. Bradford ended the season with 361, 380 and 320 yard games. Tannehill hasn’t had a 300 yard game once in his last 21 starts. Bradford’s contract was also a lot less than Tannehill.

Dude. I don’t know if Tannehill stole your girlfriend in High school, banged your mom, or took the last snack pack or what, but you’ve got to chill on this nonsense.

If you want to give away an asset for nothing just because of sour grapes, then you’re still in that Gase/Tannenbaum frame of mind and need to move on. The rest of us will look at something objectively and try to maximize returns on our assets.

17 is done in Miami and that’s no secret. Can’t see a team ponying up a mid round pick when they know they can wait for free agency. There will be minimal interest in him because he’s regressed to a below average QB and his body is breaking down. He was auditioning for 32 teams week 17 and failed miserably.

Washington would be the most likely landing spot for him as a short term starter. Outside of that he’ll finish his career holding a clipboard.

Even Zac Taylor will get the best of us. Everyone knows Thill is being cut.

Saw this Report and didn’t see anyone post anything yet. Thoughts? What can we actually get for Tannehill?

The only ones thinking we can get something decent for TaMEHhill are Dolphins fans on this site that love him. He Is a BOTTOM 5 QB in this league and his contract Is top 10 among QB. Only a stupid manager would give more than a 5th for him. I think getting rid of him Is a must if we really are on the tanking business, but even in Dallas with a very good OL, he would be top 20 at best.

Lol right. He was ranked 27th this preseason by nfl insiders on ESPN survey . Do you think that ranking went up this year lol? He was ranked 34th on the big lead. Pretty much everyone realizes he sucks except a handful of dolphin fans, Adam Gase and joe Schad.

It's silly to think NFL front offices share the same opinion as ESPN. I'm not trying to say other teams rank him high by any stretch, just that ESPN's opinion is often mocked by GMs and coaches.

The only trade that might make any sense is TJ McDonald, if they want Minkah at FS. Even then, you would probably only get a late round pick and the dead cap would be nearly prohibitive.

Not seeing any trades for the Dolphins this off season unless the new coaching staff runs a base 3-4 defense. In that case, there could be a couple. Perhaps Godchaux, if they don't see him as a NT.

Quinn is interesting piece in that scenario as well. 13 mil sounds like a lot, but keep in mind the Khalil Mack's of this world are now getting almost twice that.

Forgetting Tannehill ever existed would be a good mental health move.

It was a survey of nfl front office people...

Like I said, nobody except a handful of dolphin fans, Adam Gase and joe Schad think he is good. Even his mom knows the truth

If they want someone who avoids turnovers than they should look elsewhere. From 2012-2018 Tannehill has the 12th most INT's and everyone in the top 11 save for Fitzpatrick has significantly more pass attempts. Not to mention he has the 4th most fumbles.

If this is true Jax won't be looking for a QB in the draft

Nick Foles - QB - Eagles
1010 XL Jacksonville's Hays Carlyon believes the hiring of OC John DeFilippo "strengthens the possibility" of the Jaguars "making an aggressive play" for Nick Foles.

Foles will have plenty of suitors once he and the Eagles decide the best course of action for him. One thing seems certain -- Foles is highly unlikely to remain in Philly after the Eagles again committed to Carson Wentz as their quarterback. DeFilippo was Foles' position coach in 2017 with the Eagles when they won the Super Bowl on Foles' back. The Jaguars' obvious top need is finding a quarterback. Blake Bortles and his $21 million cap hit are on the way out the door.

His interception rate has been fairly low for pretty much his entire career and his fumble rate on sacks is actually not bad at all.

When comparing rate statistics, he's relatively turnover averse.

I get what your saying, obviously it takes two to tango though. I just don't think you can trade for a QB if he's not completely on board with where he's going.

I just think it's a bad year for this to be unfolding. There is an over abundance of average at the QB position right now. Foles, Flacco, Dalton, Manning, Bradford, eventually Derek Carr, eventually Kirk Cousins again, Case Keenum, Blake Bortles.

Washington is the only team I could see it happening with and I don't know what they are thinking having invested a pick in Alex Smith and getting nothing in return.

Call me crazy but I think the Jets and Patriots could have some serious interest for different reasons......once he's released.

Bengal fans seem to be loving the Taylor hire. They just wanted anything McVay touched. I thought it might have been sarcasm at first but it is indeed genuine.

I think they'll be one of our biggest rivals in the hunt for the top pick. Would be pretty sweet if they did get the top pick and they gave it to us for Tannehill.
