Sunday Ticket without Directv?

The prices for Sunday Ticket are ridiculous. I really wish they would introduce packages that you can buy per division. So if we wanted JUST AFCE games that is all we would get.

Man, I bought the version of madden last year that had the DTV pass on it and it was well worth it for only and extra $40. I REALLY sucks that I can't do that again this year.

Lots of people wish for lots of things that are not available. Sunday Ticket offers every single game being played on Sunday, minus black out games in locale.
I have yet to miss a Dolphin game and personally think $199.00 for 16 weeks of every game is a pretty good damn deal.
Try and go to just one game. You will see Sunday Ticket is actually a cheap option. The best option.

It's really not. Comes out to about $20 a game.

Its actually around $13 a game. $200 divided by 16 is $12.50 per game. Of course you must consider Monday, Thursday and Thanksgiving if applicable are not on Sunday ticket and neither are the pre-season games. A steal if you ask me.

Maybe this is filed under illegal activity but a couple of years ago, I paypaled someone who has DTV with Sunday ticket to share their password, I paid like $150 if I remembere correctly. If someone is willing to do that again this year, i maybe interested as I moved out of Florida again.

Thanks for the link. They should probably mention this.

The service is only available to those who: 1) live in apartment buildings where DirecTV service is unavailable; 2) live in metro New York, Philadelphia or San Francisco; or 3) attend college at Michigan (Ann Arbor), Alabama, Washington, Texas (Austin), USC, Florida, Colorado (Boulder), Syracuse, Ohio State or Harvard.

$200? Meh, I spend less money and have more fun watching it at the bar, especially when I trek into Manhattan and watch it with DolFansNYC.

Meh. You might spend less than $200 for one game at the bar, but there is no way in hell you can watch all 16 games at a bar for under $200.

Meh, thanks to beer specials at $3-$4/beer at the bar I typically go to and the 2-3 beers I have per game, it's pretty easy actually. Of course, the couple of games a year I choose to watch at home (usually 3-4, though it used to be more when this team was worth watching) negate any of the times I go over that amount (the rare occasion I buy food or more beer). Do I need to do the math for you or can you handle it? Meh, I'll do it for you. Taking the high end of those averages and assuming I watch every single game at a bar: $4 x 3 beers x 16 games = $192. So, in that occasion, which never happens, I would go over $200, but only because I'm a very good tipper.

None of that accounts for the fun factor either. That comes free though.

Since I'm in Denver I'm considering driving up to Boulder, have some student sign up for Sunday Ticket and give me the password info in exchange for a case of beer.

I have no doubt there will be ways around that once it all starts.

Even if I wanted to pay for Sunday Ticket ($200 isn't a horrible price, and that wasn't my meaning earlier, just that it isn't worth it to me), I simply don't want DirecTV. I wouldn't switch from FIOS to DirecTV even if Sunday Ticket was free.

Plus at the bar, you get to watch all the other games without having to change the channel. I see a lot of the bars in my area are starting to put tv screens at each table, which is a nice bonus. I am fortunate to get about half the Dolphins games on local TV, sometimes more. I like going to the bars anyways so it evens out pretty good for me. I like the atmosphere at the bars on Sundays, hanging out with other teams fans is always a good time. Though I do spend a little more than you on the brewskis and I typically get some wings.

Exactly. As for beers and food, there are two reasons for the amount I spend. I do a lot of work on Sundays, so I don't drink much, and even if I wanted to, the bars I go to are packed, so rapid fire drinking is tough to pull off unless you are truly dedicated to getting drunk. Personally, I'm too busy watching all the games and talking to friends.

Also, my estimates don't account for food and drinks people have at home while watching with their Sunday Ticket. I'm assuming neither comes free. So, it's certainly more than $200 for Sunday Ticket/home watching.

I don't have a problem with Sunday Ticket, I was merely giving my reasons for having no interest in this new deal despite qualifying for it where I live. Apparently that was offensive to some. Meh.
