Tannehill injury updates - no structural damage

What bothers me is in the new Jeff D update he says a source from the team said 'we knew it was just a ticking time bomb since he didnt have surgery'.

Uhm I thought all the doctors evaluations said lets go the no surgery route- unless Ryan just said Im not having surgery period.

And from Ryans stand point I can understand not going under the knife if at all possible. I am glad that they give the option to the player and not coerce.

Apparently it is not stable enough though and that's the reason it buckled today. Hence the possible need for surgery.

Yea, that's what really sucks in this equation -- it would seem (and I'm not saying for sure) the knee was never really "stable" and that means some folks in Dolphinland could have, or should have been aware of this "problem" before it happened -- based on knee structural tests that I have to assume were conducted and the results passed on to all parties concerned. That said, I have to absolutely agree with the folks upset we didn't draft a QB for insurance or make other possible moves in that direction. It's just a fact that our collective football karma has been such that we get more than our fair share of bad breaks in these kind of situations. Maybe big MO plays a part in karma as well???

Bottom line, I focking hate that lady wussy QB on the Cheats. Satan obviously runs the NFL.

Cutler knows Gases' system, they are friends etc... it's the obvious choice here. Maybe some of you think Kaep is better then Cutler (I don't) but those of you think he is, do you honestly think he could learn Gases' system by week 1, and run it as well as Cutler could? you're crazy if you think so...

I can understand that. I'm pretty sure Matt Moore has a losing record over his career and have never played in any big games. We know what we have with Moore and I'd prefer not to see it for 16 games.

True but we also know what we'd get from Cutler or Kaep and it wouldn't be long until the fan base didn't want to see that for 16 games. Whether it's Cutler throwing into triple coverage for the umpteenth time or Kaep over shooting most of the passing tree. might as well roll the cap space (13 mil are you kidding me???) to next year especially if it means the difference between going 5-11 to 6-10.

Everyone is so dramatic lol how about we wait until we hear more. We heard there's no structural damage which is good news. It could be just scar tissue building up. I'm sure many of you just like I have, has tweaked a knee or a body part and it felt painful for a few days then a few days later it was back to 100%. Lets giving it the weekend before we throw the towel in on Tannehills season or career.

New news reports that there was additional damage. He'll be out a minimum for about half the season even if he only seeks rehabilitation again. Though that doesn't seem very likely at this point and surgery seems the most possible scenario.

My Sunday's are gonna be a lot of grey goose this year

At least I can save some calories out of this wasted season
If you buy the Costco Kirkland version of it.. made by Grey Goose in the same French river, etc.....and with some better reviews, you get a megasized bottle for about 35-40% less.

Where was this reported? Everything I've read says no damage was found. In fact the first doctor he saw said the knee was fine and couldn't find an explanation. Everyone's talking about surgery but surgery on what?

In this thread. Sorry but Im not sorting thru 1100+ posts, but it's in here.

I think RT as a medical student decided in the end against the surgery last year. The staff was probably divided as well.
They probably let RT decide.
RT might have ruined his career by waiting.
New players can emerge.
NFL=not for long.
I hope that RT gets the surgery so he can resume his career and compete for the starting job again in 2018.
I really think the injury could become chronic if not addressed now.

I doubt they went with the medical advise of some random guy on the street. It was likely the recommendation of multiple very highly qualified doctors.

Because the best orthopedic surgeon in the nation, Dr James Andrews, thoroughly inspected his knee as did other orthopedic specialists, and made the recommendation to proceed with rest and avoid the full ACL reconstruction.

Ryan knew, being a pre-med student, the full implications of damage to his knee. He understood the rehabilitation, the healing mechanisms, and experimental techniques for the tears to his ligaments. He knew, statistically that there was a one in ten chance that this injury would fully heal. He took the chance, like Ricky smoked the bong. Williams knew there was a high probability he would test positive for drugs and be suspended for a year... he took the smallest of chances he'd be OK. One funny step/change of direction and the year is gone up in smoke. Thanks Ryan, keep looking out for number one.
