You’re on the clock and another GM calls you...

tua WHEN HEALTHY is not a "generational QB". Too short and injury prone, and I am suspicious of how much (probably a LOT) of his number padding is on Jeudy, Ruggs and Harris.

He can only be wanted by ross as a publicity stunt to sell tickets and placate goodell.
I'm going to disagree with your opinion in the 1st paragraph. You may be right, but I don't think so.

Your 2nd comment is confusing, though. Can you expand upon why drafting Tua would placate Goodell? And, while we're on the subject, why would we need to placate Goodell in the first place?

i'd tell him to kick rocks

stop trying to outsmart the league and get your qb

If Detroit takes Tua that is a good thing. Means Burrows went 1, Young at 2, Tua at 3, so 4th is Thomas at LT or Okudah at CB or possibly Simmons at LB will be available with our pick at 5. At 18 we can take Love at QB and at 25 take BPA like Biadasz or Creed for Oline. 2nd round pick up Etienne or Dobbins at RB and Becton at OT. In 2 rounds we have added 3 top level linemen, a QB, and a RB or 2 OL and an impact defender in Okudah or Simmons. Is Tua worth that especially once he gets broken in half again and can’t play.

Not only that but how is a qb "too short" to be generational? I guess drew brees, Russel wilson never happened. Injury prone is a huge maybe.

Heres a dream scenario for you. For whatever reason, we don't get Tua and roll with Fitz/Rosen for the year as we build up the team. We get an offer from Chicago at 27 as they try to pick up a first to get a QB? They completely suck next year and get the #1 overall. We draft Lawrence in 2021 after we get 9 or 10 wins in 2020.

Then afterwards a super hot porn star knocks on your door and offers to have wild sex with you for as long as you can handle it and gives you a million bucks for the pleasure.

I think it's very possible that Grier trades that Houston pick to a team picking in the early 2nd round. That could net another 1st rounder in 2021 and quite possibly an additional pick in 2020?

If Oakland makes that offer, I ask they throw Clelin Ferrell too. Then 4 1sts are too many to use up in one year. I would punt at least one into next year as well as one of our seconds.

I have posted before, but if the FO dont feel as though Tua is the right guy because of injuries, do the offer one of this years mid pack 1st rounder picks to a team that isnt expected to improve a lot - Redskins - for their No 1 next year in the hope of getting Lawrence or Fields?

Just a thought

By that logic, Joe Montana wasn’t any good either since his numbers were ‘padded’ by Jerry Rice, John Taylor, Roger Craig, Brent Jones and Tom Rathman. Right?

Peyton Manning had Marvin Harrison and Reggie Wayne. Brett Favre had Sterling Sharpe, Antonio Freeman, Robert Brooks, and Donald Driver. Drew Brees has Michael Thomas and had Marques Colston, Jimmy Graham, and Brandin Cooks.

The great Joe Burrow everyone is going Lady Gaga over has Ja’Mar Chase, Justin Jefferson, and Terrace Marshall Jr.

See where I’m going with this?

For all you guys using this lame argument, you need to use it against ALL QB’s. Because there have been few QB’s in history that look like Dan Marino (other than Dan Marino) without a lot of talent at the skill positions.

It's odd that out of our current 11 picks, only 4 of them are the Dolphins original allotted picks. 4th, 5th and 7th were all traded.

this is the best scenario. Picks from 25-38 are fairly close in value, and guys who should have been first rounders but had an injury, a measurable that was off or something else fall here. 2nd rounders historically do very well in the league, and having (3) 2nd‘s and adding another first next year makes sense. Also, if our board shows 5-8 guys with the same grade and someone wants to move up 5-6 spots and gives us a 3rd or 4th next year do that a few times. If we go into next year with 3 firsts, 2 seconds, 2 thirds, and 3 fourth rounders we could package several 3’s and 4’s with a first or second to have enough for a top pick and still have multiple firsts and seconds next year.

Grier has stated, he's looking to have at least 10 picks in each draft moving forward. I think he means business in that regard. If this coaching staff continues to develop players, it eventually gets to the point, where they can make big trade up, for a player they want. It's a great way to build a team.

Our front office would probably go for that type of deal, but I don't see the Skins passing on Young.

Unless I’m misunderstanding, he’s not suggesting trading for the Skins #2. He’s saying the Skins might want another 1st rounder this season (in addition to Young) and perhaps the Dolphins could lure their 2021first rounder for #18 in this draft. And since the Skins aren’t likely to be all that much improved next season, it might be a top 10 pick. Stockpile a 3rd 1st round pick next season in the hopes of having enough resources to trade up for one of 2021’s QB’s.

I don’t believe WASH would go for that, but that’s what it sounds like he suggesting.
