Manning is done with football whether he knows it or not. -- Dr. 72Champagne

I do think Manning will tell the truth about his health and wont play unless he feels he can. I dont think he would lie about it and screw the team. That would leave a mark on his legacy.

If Manning gets cut before March 8, then FA could begin a little sooner for us. But I really want to know if this guy can be healthy. I heard Shannon Sharp had the same type of injury and retired.

i heard sterling sharpe say the other day on nfl network " my surgery was to preserve quality of life " and also said that from what he heard about peyton mannings surgery was it was intended to to allow manning to keep playing.
sorry no link.

I always wanted Miami to win with players we drafted, rather than big name players acquired from trades or free agent. Particularly from rival teams. I still haven't forgiven Miami for signing Thurman Thomas in 2000. Can you imagine that Buffalo Bill celebrating in OUR SuperBowl! Ugh.

That said, Miami has been so dysfunctional and completely irrelevant over the past decade or more, I'd gladly welcome Peyton Manning at this point. If we did win a SuperBowl with him, it would always be considered a HIRED-GUN type championship which takes some glory, but hell... we don't even contend anymore. When Marino played, I always felt we had a legitimate shot of winning the SuperBowl each and every season. I haven't had that feeling in 12 years.... it would be nice.

If he is healthy and what modern medicine can do now that was not available even 5 yrs ago. If he has the fire and has something to prove I dig it. Peyton running a hurry up offense, with his ability to read a defense and attack it will be great.

Being arguably the biggest Moore supporter on this team I would have to say. ABSO-FREAKING-LUTELY.

If Manning is cleared to play you take him. Don't care how much he costs. If he can't play you still have Moore. You then take this offseason drafting and preparing the team for a future QB.

Manning makes Miami instant contenders.

When healthy he is a top 2 QB in this league period.I don't care of the QB of the futrue when a healthy Manning still gives you 3 or 4 years.

If Miami does get him I would like to see them trade up to get Kalil or Blackmon personally.Manning would finally have a solid defense

It should be a resounding YES. If we have the means, we should sign him.

Manning is not just a quarterback, he is an entire offense. Manning has proved he was the reason the Colts had a chance every year.

Brady goes out, the Pats still make the playoffs with Cassell. Manning goes out and they are the worst team in the league...

I love how everybody says hell yeah I want him if hes healthy. The Colts thought he was healthy coming into this year. The problem is even if he is as healthy as he can get, he will never be the same as he was. I have had spinal fusion just like he has had and I am not the same as before. It makes you very stiff. The disc between every one of your vertebrates help you bend and twist, if you fuse two of those two together you can not bend or twist at that joint. He will not be as mobile as he was before. I dont think we need to put another band aid on the QB position. Yes a band aid, he might only give us a year or two. We need a guy thats going to be with us for 10+ years.

Definately take Peyton if he is available. The injury is scary but well worth the risk. I would like to see a scenario where Peytons health isnt figured out until post-draft. Let our front office build the team w/o Peyton signed or in mind. Then closer to training camp Peyton will be cleared to play and we do what we can to sign him. There isnt a QB available that would be better than Peyton. This would be a great situation imo.

Im not completey sold on Matt Flynn nor do I believe he will the the high dollar contract everyone is predicting. I could be completely wrong but I just dont see how a guy who was a 7th rd pick and only 2 games experience, is going to demand a starters pay. If the coach believes in him I fully understand why he makes sense for the Phins. At the right price I would take the chance.

(DREAMING) Sign Matt Flynn at a good price....Then the scenario above plays out and Peyton becomes available.....Sorry Flynn we would like you to be backup for another year or two. LOL This would be an AMAZING offseason, unfortunately highly unlikely. I wont believe Flynn gets a huge contract till I see it.

I have to friends that have fusions on their necks and both will never be the same again. You have to be high to sign this guy. He could successfully qualify for full time disability if he had a profession where he works with his hands and arms such as a mason, painter, mechanic etc.. I can't see him surviving a hit in the NFL. NO NO NO to this guy...

A couple of months ago, you were hesitant about signing Manning to a long-term contract for this reason. Will Manning be able to return this season? It’s impossible to know at this point. If he has continued weakness or tingling, he will not play this season. Period. Further injury can lead to more serious damage and even partial paralysis. No spine specialist would clear a patient to play contact football if the patient continued to have neurological symptoms.

YOU HAVE TO BE HIGH TO SIGN THIS HORSE, HE IS ON HIS WAY TO THE GLUE FACTORY!
