Good point where Henne need to improve and could have won the Tampa game..

Did anyone who is defending Henne actually see the play in real time? I am not one of those Henne haters at all but it was CLEAR in real time that he missed Bess.

I mean, are the Henne apologists so used to defending attacks on the guy that they don't see when a valid point is being made? He should have made that throw.

I saw it on replay, he did not miss Bess because of the lineman with his hand up. You can throw a curve in baseball, not in football. Also, Hartline did not come open until Henne tucked the ball to run and the D collapsed.

He didn't turn it over or throw a pick 6 so it was probably the right play.

Bess WAS open for a second but 3 guys were closing and 10 - 0 is better than 7 - 7.

Why are you guys apologizing for him yet admitting he WAS open (even for a second).

QB is the most important position on the team, you are OK with ours not making a play, that admittedly is a tough one, but an elite QB should make?

Because people have a such a need for Henne to be "the guy" they excuse his mistakes right and left.

Aplogizing for what? WTF does anybody need to aologize for a guy who is 10-13 and a TD (with the 3 incompletes all catchable) and a decision to instead of trying to make a perfect throw with a hand in your face that the slightest mistake will be a pick 6, and taking the smart play and getting points? Seriously GTF outta here!

In a game where our QB is near perfect.....the O-Line plays like absolute crap....Marshall fumbles deep in the opponents territory....multiple penalties, including a missed safety, dropped int's....this is the best you can come up with?!?!?! Bahahahaha

Seriously, if this is the type of stuff people have to dig up all year on Henne..... I will be happy as hell!

Ok, best case scenario....perfect on time throw for a TD. Worst case scenario and more probable, the lineman gets his hands up and knocks it in the air and it gets picked or causes Henne to hesitate just a bit for the window to clear and it is a pick 6 the other way. Henne made the right decision and was decisive and ran. We got points instead of a turnover. Some along with Morando are digging for crap because you hav an agenda against the starting QB and have had for a while. The guy was 10-13 with a TD and all 3 incompletes were catchable. Then you bring up this silly shiz?....Seriously?!

So based on your logic, why don't we just never throw it in the red zone? I mean, we're always going to risk a turnover when if we don't turn it over we're pretty much guaranteed to get 3 points. Why bother for 4 more points?

This is exactly the kind of response I would expect. There is a difference between throwing in the endzone in tight spaces and throwing an out pattern with 3 people in the area with a hand in the way to a small receiver.

Ask Kurt Warner about throwing into a small area with 3 defenders right there in th endzone. It cost him and Arizona the Superbowl.

Wrong. The Arizona Cardinals lost the Super Bowl because the opposing team's QB wasn't afraid to take a shot at the end zone and ended up scoring an epic TD. Get it? Frontline QB's in this league make plays in the end zone.

Yea, you're saying it's OK for Henne to not make that throw cause he played well and the rest of the team did not do so great? I thought he did well also, but he SHOULD HAVE MADE THAT THROW. You're basically saying you want a game manager as your QB and not a leader.

Well, now we see where our difference is.

I don't think Bess was open, but I do think Henne could have nudged forward and hit Hartline with a little patience. It certainly wasn't a gimme. The issue I have with the call he made to run is that he was never going to make the endzone (or he certainly didn't take off like he was doing everything to get there), so why not stand there and try to find an open player? I appreciate he has half a second to make the call, but nobody's going to slow the clock down for you - you have to make the right call with the time you have.

Overall, I wouldn't grade the guy down massively for what was a very solid game of football. His redzone composure and pocket awareness are improving, but still a work in progress.

Buddy get a clue, that was a 14 point swing going into the half. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out WTF I am talking about. Good God, some people on here.

Also that front line QB played like a$$ in 2 out of 3 Superbowls. Teams win Superbowls.......get it?

waaaaaay late to this party, but this is a really bad article

People really need to pay attention to what's been said before, before you accuse everybody of being blind Henne supporters. I'm not going to repost my commentary on the plays yet again, but it needs to be said that those of you who think this freeze frame dissection done by Armando is a legitimate reason that Henne sux and has tons & tons to work on still before he is half way decent.....are really reaching to have another excuse to bash him. One play, no way did Henne do anything wrong, and the other was 50/50 at best if he should have thrown it, let alone the fact that he was running away from a collapsing pocket cause he had no protection.
You all that just want to harp on Henne have a lot better film to look at in the past to criticize him than anything done against the Bucs the other night.
