MERGEDX1000: The official sky is falling and everyone sucks thread

We'll end up with nothing as long as Ireland stays

Our waiver wire pickups aren't anything to get excited about. Sammy Brown admitted he was lazy in college and scouts said the same thing about him. Then Brown only had 1 tackle in the pre-season for the Rams. Stanford is an undersized nickelback, Nolan is a slow safety who is a liabilty in coverage or in space and Armstrong only had 7 catches last season. Remember, Armstrong's best season was in 2010 and was only good for 44 catches. Not exactly stellar. Outside of that 44 catch season Armstrong has done NOTHING.

fired tony. released gates, wallace, and other wastes of time. I'm actually encouraged that this coaching staff knows what they want, and what they don't.

The coaching staff I have faith in. Ireland...hes hot garbage and his resume bears that out. Its unfortunate for Philbin's sake that hes relying heavily on the players Ireland brings in.

OH **** WHAT THE **** IS GOING ON. ALERT, ALERT, THE GREAT BILL BELICHICK HAD TO TRADE A 2015 DRAFT PICK TO ADD A RECEIVER TO THE ROSTER. WHAT THE **** WAS HE THINKING WAITING UNTIL FINAL CUTS TO ADD DEPTH TO HIS TEAM. AWW MAN..

The Patriots now have five receivers on their 53-man roster. Salas joins Wes Welker, Brandon Lloyd, Julian Edelman and special-teams ace Matthew Slater.

I literally cant believe youre equating adding depth to desperately trying to fill key positions of need.

Pretty sure that 44 catch season makes him one of our most accomplished receivers.

Critics of Ireland all get herded into one giant, potpourri thread with a condescending title. Meh. Like it or not, the structure and direction of the Dolphins as determined by Ireland is the single most relevant discussion there is about the Dolphins' success now and moving forward.

This is 100% true. Irelands standing with this team is the biggest determining factor for the fins future and IS the most relevant topic in determining what the teams future holds. Unless tanny turns into an elite qb as long as he is our gm, the fins future has little chance of improving and it should remain a major topic of discussion. Unfortunately there are fans who would rather avoid any discussion whatsoever if it isn't rah rah dolphins. There is this new commercial out which shows parents in denial of their kids substance abuse. One mother walks in on her son popping pills and acts like she doesn't even see it rather than confront the issue itself. Some people just don't want to acknowledge whats right in front of their face.

At least there are a group of realists here. I popped over to the other site yesterday and left after reading one thread. The Pom Pom waving and the number of 9-7 or 10-6 guarantees was ridiculous

Well count me as an former Ireland supporter. But after the smoke has cleared on this off season its as bad as it can possibly be. When you cut down to 53 and then have to keep cutting people past that point it speaks volumes. Ireland is completely to blame here. He did pretty much piont his finger the last two previous season at Sparano. Wierd how he came out of those without a dent. Now this off season is even worse and he has no scape goat to blame. Even Philbin recently when on the record to say that Winning is 90% talent and 10% coaching. Wonder why he said that and what he really thinks about his GM?

Bess is by far our most accomplished receivers, as he has had 50+ catches in everyone of his NFL seasons. In 2009 he had 76 catches and in 2010 had 79.

Im aware. Never said he wasnt our most accomplished. Im not sure how Bess being our most accomplished receiver changes the point though.

If you call yourself an artist and yet everything you paint looks like a pile of dog crap...pretty soon your body of work proves you ARE NOT an artist. The results speak for themself.
Look at Irelands "body of work"...He is no GM

To be fair, Hartline, Bess and Naanee have had more of an accomplished career. Right now, Armstrong would be 4th. Though for comparisons, Armstrong's career accomplishments would be 3rd if he was on the Patriots.

Thats a bit deceiving considering they has two of the best receiving TEs in the NFL and two recevers who have recently been all-pros.
